Congresswoman Carolyn B. Maloney and the New
York City Bar Association are joining forces
to help small business owners affected by the
July 18th steam blast in Midtown. Monday's
forum will include a Q & A session and a
break-out session, where attendees can meet individually
with attorneys and representatives from the U.S.
Small Business Administration and the NYC Department
of Small Business Services.
The following topics will be covered at Monday's
forum:
* Reimbursement
by Con Edison
* Obtaining
low interest loans
* Filing
insurance claims
* General
negligence and liability issues
* Commercial
leasing issues
Last summer, Maloney and the City Bar Justice
Center's Neighborhood Entrepreneur Law Project
held a successful legal clinic following the
Queens blackout.
