A Public Debate: Is Thermal Treatment of Solid Wastes Good for New York City ?

When: Thursday, March 22 nd, 9 am – 12:15 pm

 Where: House of the Association, 42 West 44th Street.

 Come and participate in a debate between advocates on both sides of this emerging issue for New York City. Thermal treatment, an alternative to landfills, conserves space and can convert waste into electricity, but is it worth the air pollution it produces? This debate, co-sponsored by the Earth Engineering Center of Columbia University andthe Mid-Atlantic States Section of Air & Waste Management Association, will offer insight and analysis on the issue.
