The City
Bar Justice Center will receive the American
Immigration Law Foundation’s Distinguished
Public Service Award at the 6 th Annual Immigrant
Achievement Awards Ceremony, to be held at the
Marriott Marquis Hotel, 1535 Broadway, in New
York City on December 8 th. The award will be
given in recognition of the Justice Center ’s
long-standing commitment to providing legal aid
and counsel to New York City immigrants.
The
evening event will also honor outstanding local
immigrants whose contributions have greatly enriched
the nation. Other honorees include: the commissioner
of the Mayor’s Office
of Immigrant Affairs, Dr. Guillermo Linares (Dominican
Republic); the president and chief creative officer
of Grey Worldwide North America, Timothy Mellors
(England); owners of the acclaimed New York restaurant “La
Caravelle,” Rita and Andre Jammet (Saudi
Arabia and France); and music recording engineer
Hector Castillo (Venezuela). For additional details,
