THE ASSOCIATION OF THE BAR OF THE CITY OF NEW YORK
RELEASES ITS EVALUATIONS OF CANDIDATES FOR SUPREME COURT IN KINGS COUNTY AND NEW YORK COUNTY, SURROGATE'S COURT IN KINGS COUNTY, NEW YORK COUNTY, AND QUEENS COUNTY, AND
CIVIL COURT AND DISTRICT ATTORNEY IN KINGS COUNTY AND NEW YORK COUNTY
New York - New York - The Association of the Bar of the City
of New York today announced its evaluations of candidates running for Supreme
Court in Kings County and New York County, Surrogate's Court in Kings County,
New York County, and Queens County, and Civil Court and District Attorney in
Kings County and New York County, in the November 8th general election.
In examining judicial candidates, the Committee on the Judiciary of the Association seeks to determine whether the candidate possesses the requisite qualifications for judicial office, including integrity, impartiality, intellectual ability, knowledge of the law, industriousness, and judicial demeanor and temperament.
The Committee advances two ratings: APPROVED and NOT APPROVED. Candidates rated APPROVED have affirmatively demonstrated qualifications necessary for the performance of the duties of the court for which they are being considered.
