Special Legal Forum
“HUMAN TRAFFICKING”
What: A Legal Discussion
When: Tuesday, September 21, 2004, at 6 to 9 p.m.
Where: House of the Association, 42 West 44th Street
Human trafficking is a modern manifestation of
slavery and organized crime that affects people
worldwide. The program will cover the legal remedies
that are available to victims of trafficking under
international human rights laws and the Trafficking
Victims Protection Act. The Association will present
a panel of top-notch speakers, each well respected
in their related fields, who will provide an up-to-the-minute
examination of this expanding human crisis. Panelists
will discuss this sensitive subject in candid and
practical terms as the program is geared toward
judges, immigration and criminal defense attorneys,
prosecutors and other legal professionals who encounter
human trafficking victims first-hand in their daily
proceedings.
