Bar Association to Host Legal Discussion

“Forcing Information From Journalists;
The Current State of the Reporter’s Privilege”

-- Legal Protections For Newsgathering Activities --

What: Discussion: Legal rights of reporters

When: Monday, April 26, 2004, at 6:30 p.m.

Where: House of the Association, 42 West 44th Street

A discussion and debate over the recent court decisions questioning the existence and the scope of the reporter's privilege, addressing the public interest promoted by the privilege and the arguments against the recognition of any separate category of protection for the newsgathering activities of reporters.
