The New York City Bar Association is now soliciting
nominations for the Nineteenth Annual Legal Services
Awards. Sponsored by the Legal Services Awards
Committee, the Association will present up to five
awards of $500 each to winners working full time
in providing direct legal services to low income
clients. The Association will honor the winners
at a reception currently scheduled for May 15,
2008 .
People eligible for this award are:
- Attorneys who have, for an extended period
during their career, devoted themselves to the
direct provision of free legal services to indigent
persons.
In addition, the Legal Services Awards Committee
will consider making an award to:
- Nonlawyers who have, for an extended period
during their career, devoted themselves to and
supported the process of providing free legal
services to indigent persons.
