The New York City Bar Lawyer Assistance Program (NYC LAP) is a FREE, CONFIDENTIAL service, available to attorneys, judges, law students and their family members, in New York City, who are struggling with alcohol or drug abuse, depression, anxiety, stress, as well as other addictions and mental health issues.

  • Attorney Monitoring Program
  • Outreach and Education
NYC LAP works in conjunction with the Association of the Bar's Committee on Alcohol and Substance Abuse and local volunteers to provide peer assistance, monitoring and education to the legal community.

VOLUNTEER TRAINING
If you are interested in becoming a LAP volunteer in your area, a training session is being offered in Albany in September 2006. Please see the brochure for details.

 




We will make every effort to keep all communications confidential. Use of LAP services, in relation to drug and alcohol abuse, is confidential and protected under Federal Regulation 42 CFR part 2 and Section 499 of the New York Judiciary Law as amended by Chapter 327 of the laws of 1993.
